STAKEHOLDER REPORT – VISIT TO GERMANY - NOVEMBER 2021

Key stake holder visits to Germany took place during the period of 13 to 19 November 2021.

Discussions were held with technical suppliers, banks, project underwriters and prospective funders.

The objective of the discussions in Germany was to:

  • inform key stakeholders on progress made in terms of the implementation of the Development Plan for the Prieska Power Reserve Project,
  • engage at a functional level on areas of plant configuration, technologies, EPC and O&M support, financial modelling, funding structures including subsidies, market potential and off-take programmes, etc. and to
  • affirm support and commitment towards the project.

The visit follows on the backdrop of the conclusion of the COP26 in Glasgow – with governments committing to the transition to a carbon neutral dispensation. The COVID19 pandemic enforced a new normal in terms of stakeholder engagement and interaction with limited travel and physical meeting opportunities.

The need for the visit was clearly expressed to bridge the communication gap created by electronic meetings and to engage stakeholders meaningfully and in person, on a functional level.

The visit to Germany was successful, the market looks good, the underwriting is positive, overall firm support was achieved towards the development plans of the project.
